Studio Cadena has created the interiors for new Bogotá bakery and restaurant Masa, which has a lantern-like appearance thanks to its huge triangular windows.
Geometric cut-outs break up the building’s facade while offering a glimpse inside the 7,500 sq ft restaurant and bakery, which is strung with giant paper lanterns. Terrazzo tiles cover the floor of Masa’s public spaces, while walls are made from tactile cast concrete.
Ribbons of metallic mesh drip from the ceiling of the Bogotá restaurant, while a curving concrete bar and serving station anchors the space and contrasts simple wooden tables and chairs.
Food from chef and co-owner Silvana Villegas includes a range of artisanal breads, available from the bakery. The restaurant’s meanwhile offers a simple mix of tartines and sandwiches, alongside traditional favourites plantain and yuca chips.
